Six Degrees of Separation For Your Pets
Boston, MA December 12 2003--Today Backwash.com announces the launch of the first social networking site for pets and their owners. Pets, with help from their hominid friends, can now register their profiles on BackwashPets.com and build social networks of all their pet pals and see how many degrees of separation they are from other pets around the world.
Pets receive their own free journals, home pages, message boards and private messaging systems so they can write about their daily activities and meet other pets with similar interests.
Backwash Pets does not discriminate against any species and welcomes critters of all shapes and sizes – from guinea pigs to gorillas. Indeed, Backwash Pets just had its first octopus register. In just a few short days since launching, Backwash Pets has helped facilitate multiple inter-species friendships – cats befriending birds, parrots befriending frogs, horses befriending dogs, even rabbits befriending octopi.
States David Ring, President of Backwash.com, "The whole pets concept grew organically. A few of our Backwash.com visitors registered under their pets' names, uploaded their pet photos, wrote profiles for their pets and then engaged in message board discussions posing as their pets. The idea quickly caught on like wildfire and the spin-off site Backwashpets.com is the end result."
Backwash has also proudly helped bridge the chasm between cats and dogs, allowing them to meet on neutral turf to discuss the differences between the species and find common ground. In a recent discussion, cats and dogs debated which species was better and came to the decision to let sleeping dogs lie.
Backwash Pets looks forward to the day when the war between cats and dogs ends, thanks to the help of its incipient creature social networking website.
